In a significant squad announcement, India's ODI team for the upcoming series against Australia sees the inclusion of four new faces—Shreyanka Patil, Mannat Kashyap, Saika Ishaque, and Titas Sadhu. These players, who are receiving their maiden call-ups, bring diverse skills to the team.
Shreyanka, an off-spin all-rounder, showcased her potential in the recent T20I series against England, claiming five wickets, including a match-winning 3-19. Left-arm spinner Saika also impressed in the same series with a notable spell of 3-22.
Additionally, Mannat Kashyap, a left-arm spinner, and Titas Sadhu, a member of India's U19 Women’s T20 World Cup-winning team, have secured their places in the ODI squad. The squad also marks the return of pace spearhead Renuka Singh Thakur and wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh.
Notably, experienced players like Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Devika Vaidya miss out on the ODI selection. The three-match ODI series, crucial for India's preparation for the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup, will commence on December 28 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
